CHARLES PEARSALL

This is a shortened bio. for Charles Pearsall of Mi.
This family is allied to my family, by way of the 1st marriage of my ancestor Louisa(Loisa) Maria Whaley to Nathaniel Pearsall in NY., ca. 1824-25, (Louisa second married John Adams Rockwell in 1832 in Pontiac MI., who is my ancestor.) Nathaniel (the brother of Samuel Pearsall, below), had three children: Maria, Clarke, and Abigail with many desc. listed. with allied lines of Allen, Vaughn/Vaughan, Barbour, Hamilton, Brushell, Barber. We do not know where Nathaniel is buried. Charles Pearsall b. Detroit, May 5, 1832, s/o Samuel and Elizabeth (Hutchins) Pearsall. Samuel was s/o Clarke and Abigail (Sebiree) Pearsall. Abigail b. NY of English parents; died NY Clarke b. NY resided in Floyd and Genesse Co. came to Mich. 1829 to Bloomfield Twp. Oak. Co., Mi. Charles Maternal grandparents: Daniel and Polly (Mott) Hutchins from NYS to Mich. in 1829.

Samuel and bros. George and William Pearsall, took up land in 1829 which later was owned by William M. Williamson. Sam'l then bought another tract where he lived out his life. Samuel was a Democrat until the organization of the Republican Party; he and wife were active members of the Methodist Episcopal Church; he died in 1877 at age of 78; wife died in 1888 at age 84.

Charles Pearsall b. 1832 had siblings: Jane, Marvin, Thomas, Margaret, George, Electa, and Abigail. (Charles was 4th born). Charles farm comprised of 158 acres on the bank of Long Lake, and is 3 miles South of Pontiac on Franklin Rd., Bloomfield Twp. Oakland Co. Mi. He was Republican.

He married Jan. 22, 1863, Anna Gilson of Mendon, b.Mar 20, 1848 in Crawford Co. Pa.; m. in St Joseph Co; dau. of Gideon and Lucy M. (Landen) Gilson, both b. in Pa, came to MI. 1853 and settled in Berrian Co. , MI.

Charles and Anna had 8 ch: Ada B., Nellie J., Fred, Ola, Frank P. George, Samuel, and Mary. Fred m. Ada Weaver and lived Oxford, Mi. Nellie m. Eber E. Winn , 29 Mar. 1885 in Oak. Co., and lived Bloomfield Twp. Ada m. Cyrus Evans, a sailor, and lived in Port Huron
